Registration and Badges
Note: Imagi-Con 2023 is free
Attendance to Imagi-Con and the events within requires a badge/bracelet. Attendees may pre-register for the convention online (please note that all official registration points will be advertised clearly on the Imagi-Con website). Admission can be purchased at the door on the day of the event. Badges will not be made available until the opening of the convention and proof of purchase must be presented in order to receive your badge or wristband. Even if registration is free, you must still visit registration before entering the event.
Badges must be worn and visible at all times while at the event (this goes for staff, volunteers, and guests as well). Your badge identifies you as an attendee; the staff and security will approach anyone without visible identification. So avoid the hassle and wear it.
*Imagi-Con is not responsible for lost or stolen badges or wristbands. Imagi-Con will not replace or reimburse lost or stolen badges or wristbands.
General Information
Guests of all ages will be attending the event and the majority of events will be for family-friendly audiences. We ask that you do your part in keeping the common areas obscenity-free—take into consideration the number of people who are also trying to enjoy the convention. The convention will be hosting an anime screening room and a gaming room, in which some of the TV shows and games may be rated 14+ and 17+. We ask adults bringing children to use their own discretion.
Please keep in mind that your actions in the convention center, your hotel, and the city of Brundidge will reflect upon us. Please act responsibly and courteously around community members and other guests of the city. Imagi-con, as well as the City of Brundidge, Brundidge Historical Society, and Brundidge Business Association provide security for the event. Security can be contacted by any of the staff members. Our Security personnel are responsible for the safety of all of our attendees while helping to maintain an enjoyable atmosphere. Please promptly adhere to all recommendations that Security provide. The Brundidge Police will be on the convention grounds.
Act of God Policy: If the event must be postponed due to an act of God (BAD storming, enforced quarantine, etc.) Imagi-Con reserves the right to cancel up to three days before the event.
Convention Area Guidelines
Many businesses in Brundidge have been gracious enough to let us use their facilities for Imagi-Con. In order to maintain our partnership with these businesses for years to come, the following rules will be strictly enforced by Security:
Smoking and alcohol are strictly prohibited inside the convention area
Food and drink allowed in designated areas and outdoors only.
No other unruly or disruptive behavior is allowed.
Disruptive Behavior Guidelines
We want nothing more than to see happy and enthusiastic guests at Imagi-Con, but dangerous or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Our Staff and Security can and will counteract such behavior with actions ranging from a verbal warning, ejection from the convention, or criminal charges.
Things that may prompt such action include fighting (real or fake), heckling, harassment (see Harassment Guidelines), impeding traffic flow, inappropriate waiting-line etiquette, offensive behavior, failure to observe basic hygiene, or any other failure to follow the rules. Also keep in mind that anything illegal outside of the convention is illegal inside of the convention. As long as you act appropriately, then our Staff and Security will have no problems to deal with.
Public inebriation, drug use, or any illegal form of substance abuse will not be tolerated at or around the convention area. Intoxicated individuals will be removed from the convention area and the appropriate law enforcement authorities will be notified.
Harassment Guidelines
Harassment is defined as any behavior that seriously annoys or alarms another person. This includes unwanted physical contact, following someone in public areas, verbal assaults, or threatening physical violence. Harassment is considered “Disruptive Behavior”, and our staff has the right to eject any offender and have the matter referred to the proper law enforcement agency. If you are being harassed, immediately contact a member of Security or Staff. Remember, participating in Cosplay does not equal consenting to any form of harassment.
Photography & Filming
“Filming equipment” is broadly defined as cameras (film or digital), camera phones, or camcorders. Regulations pertaining to photography and video recording vary depending on the room and the event.
No filming equipment is permitted within the anime viewing rooms or any area designated as a “theater” for events.
Filming equipment is permitted within the guest speaker rooms at the discretion of the guest speaker(s).
Photos or video may be taken of artists and/or their work at the discretion of the artist.
Filming equipment is allowed in the Main Events area unless otherwise specified.
Photos or video of individuals or groups of people (including, but not limited to, special guests, cosplayers, other attendees, or staff) is only permitted if those being photographed / filmed give their consent (the only exception being one’s participation in a Main Event, such as a game show or Cosplay Contest).
Filming Equipment and Bags may be Spot checked at random as deemed by Security.
Please be considerate when taking photographs by being brief and not blocking traffic. If you intend to use a photograph or film for any use other than private viewing (e.g. online photo album, blog, online video archives, etc.), please ask the subjects for explicit permission to post their image or video. Please note that photographs and footage of the convention and attendees will be gathered by our Staff to be used for various projects such as advertisements or future programming guides, and that purchasing admission for Imagi-Con constitutes consent to be filmed or photographed by Imagi-Con.
Paid Photo-shoots: Photographers may not solicit paid photo-shoots in convention spaces on-site unless they have an exhibitor booth. They may not solicit photo-shoots on our official mediums, but are welcome to post on their own Tumblr/Facebook/etc pages.
Children at Imagi-Con
A legal adult must accompany children under age 13 at all times.
Imagi-Con is a family friendly convention, so we do require that adults chaperone children 12 years or younger. Our Anime Screening Room and gaming room may feature videos or games that are 14+ and 17+, so we ask that adults use their own discretion when it comes to allowing children in these areas.
In the case that you are separated from your child, make sure that your child knows important information, such as your name, what you are wearing, what hotel you are staying at (if any), a cellular phone number, and a home phone number. Also instruct your child to look for a Staff or Security member in case they need help.
If you are with children who are 13 or older, it is a good idea to designate meeting times and places with them since cell phones may be either restricted or have no service in some areas of the convention.
Imagi-Con has no convention-wide PA system; however, most Staff and Security personnel have cell phones. If your child is missing, please inform us so that we can alert the rest of our team.
Buying, Selling, and Solicitation Guidelines
Currently, only vendors with appropriate vending permits are allowed to sell goods at or around the convention area. Any item, including those bought at the Convention, may be checked by Security at any time; Also, Unattended Packages will be checked and then turned into lost and found.
Panhandling and other forms of solicitation are prohibited. Examples of panhandling and solicitation include the following: asking for food or money, offering to exchange any sort of sexual favor (kisses, hugs, glomps, etc.), musicians or performance artists requesting tips, and selling anything inside of the convention center without the consent of Imagi-Con. Offenders can and will be removed from the convention center if they do not comply with these guidelines.
Selling Photos: Generally you can only sell stuff, such as photos, if you’re a paid, registered exhibitor. Otherwise, you are unfairly competing with paying exhibitors. Further, we need to collect certain information about your business for legal purposes if you sell something – that’s why only exhibitors can advertise services “for sale” at the convention.
Music & Singing: We understand that some instruments can enhance a person’s cosplay, however, we have a few rules regarding instruments and singing. Attendees may play/sing songs at our convention, however, they may not be disruptive of other events happening. You cannot sing/play loudly, causing disruptions with other events and people around you. You may also NOT solicit money from others for performances. You may NOT set out a cup or accept donations for your performance, if you wish to make money playing you may purchase a vendor booth. Anyone soliciting music, singing and performances at Imagi-Con will have their pass revoked without refund and may even cause the future ban of all instruments/open singing for Imagi-Con’s to come.

Cosplay Rules & Guidelines
Our vision here at Imagi-Con is to promote an exciting and safe atmosphere for all ages. In order to maintain a family-friendly environment, we established the guidelines below for general dress and cosplay. Failure to comply can result in being asked to cover-up, change clothes or ejection from the con.
Although we strive to be as detailed as possible, this is not an all-inclusive list; Imagi-Con reserves the right to determine whether or not your costume is appropriate. We strongly advise you to contact us in advance if you have questions. Let’s get started.
General Attire
Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times in the convention center.
Do not wear clothes that promote porn, strong language, or any other graphic content. This rule applies to language, innuendos, and images. This is a family-friendly convention.
Cosplay Costumes
Costumes must be street-legal and suitable for all audiences, as Imagi-Con is an all-ages convention. Laws of public decency apply — if you would not wear it to the post office, do not wear it at the con.
Women: Your costume must cover, at minimum, as much as a modest bathing suit. Breasts need to be 70% covered and buttocks must be completely covered. If your costume calls for a thong, pasties or other below-minimum-coverage elements, please wear a bodysuit beneath it.
Men: Your costume must cover, at minimum, as much as a typical pair of swimming trunks. If your costume calls for a Speedo-cut brief or other below-minimum-coverage elements, please wear pants or a body suit beneath it. Morph suits and other skintight unitard-type outfits require appropriate undergarments and should not be worn with nothing underneath! Genitalia and/or nipples must not be visible through the costume.
No one will be permitted to be topless in the convention area. Genitalia and/or nipples must not be visible through the costume. Liquid latex/body paint does not a costume make. Actual clothing must cover all “private parts” and you may use liquid latex/body paint as an enhancement.
Appropriate footwear is required at all times in the convention area. If your costume calls for bare feet, you may wear flip-flops or ballet slippers, but the soles of your feet should not come in contact with the floor. If your costume requires a morph suit or unitard-type outfit you must pad the soles of the costume.
The illusion of nudity is unacceptable. No Exceptions.
Inline skates (i.e. Rollerblades), roller skates, Togo skates, sneaker skates (i.e. Heelys), and the like may not be worn or used in the convention area. Sneaker skates/Heelys, may only be worn in sneaker form.
Body makeup that easily smears or transfers to any person or property cannot be worn. Please properly seal and set all makeup so that does not happen. Staff reserves the right to “smear test” for proper setting of blood or makeup. If your makeup does not comply you will be asked to remove the makeup.
You must have a clear line of sight in your cosplay; this includes peripheral vision. Being only able to see through a tiny eye slot does NOT constitute a clear line of sight. If this is unavoidable, cosplayer MUST have a handler at all times. Other cosplayer with masks or heads do not qualify as a handler. This rule does apply to attendees in fur suits as well, you require a handler with you at all times. This is due to the large crowds and tight confines of the convention space and is for the safety of all.
Imagi-con staff reserves the right to make final judgment calls on what is “decent”. If staff feels that your costume is indecent or inappropriate in any way, you will be asked to change or cover it.
Shock costumes, or costumes which have the sole purpose of offending and disrespecting other individuals, cultures, or religions in any way, will not be tolerated. We ask that you be respectful of other attendees.
Ultimately, Imagi-Con reserves the right to deny any/or all costumes not deemed appropriate and/or safe.
Military Dress
If you intend to wear a uniform that appears realistic, distinguish that it is a costume.
If your costume could be mistaken for current military or law enforcement, it is prohibited.
No gang signs, no racist symbols.
Emblems of genocide are prohibited.
Ultimately, Imagi-Con reserves the right to deny any/or all costumes not deemed appropriate and/or safe.
Weapons
Weapons, as part of costuming, should be creative in design but not realistic-looking. A realistic-looking weapon poses a safety hazard in a public place.
Dangerous items purchased in the vendor area must remain peace-bonded/wrapped at all times, and preferably taken to your hotel room or car after purchase.
Props & Accessories Guidelines
Props carried in public areas must be no more than 72 inches/6 feet in length. This is for the safety of all con goers, as well as to prevent damage to personal property. If your prop is larger than 72 inches/6 feet, please do not bring it into public areas. Props larger than 72” total must break down into pieces no larger than 72” while on the convention floor. You may assemble them for photos, if you are completely out of the flow of traffic and there is room to do so.
Metal props may not be carried in public areas. This applies to any large props and weapons, as well as small hand props such as shuriken, fans, wrenches or other items. Metal is permitted on the costume itself, provided it extends no more than 2 inches from the body in any direction, is in no way sharp, and does not present a safety hazard, as determined by convention staff.
Use caution when carrying or displaying large props. If you are seen wielding a large prop in a reckless or dangerous manner, your prop may be confiscated.
If convention staff feels that your prop poses a risk to others, you will be asked to remove the item from public areas, or it may be confiscated.
No adult-themed props/paraphernalia are permitted.
Prohibited Materials
Inflammable materials such as candles, fireworks, sparklers, liquid fuels or other fire hazards are strictly prohibited. Small personal smoking paraphernalia (cigarettes, lighter, etc.) may be carried, but may not be used in public convention areas.
Your costume should not shed. Please avoid loose materials such as sand, glitter, confetti, flower petals or other items that are designed to fall, scatter or otherwise separate from your costume.
Drones and dirigibles, flying objects are not allowed.
At the discretion of staff, the following may be permitted:
Plastic and metal shields (metal shields must demonstrate no sharp edges)
Lightweight plastic, PVC props and lightsabers; must be clearly and visibly a prop
Bows that are loosely strung and incapable of shooting arrows
Plastic, cardboard or foam props
Do not brandish props in a threatening manner. Be aware of how security personnel may interpret your actions, in or outside of convention areas.
Keep props in convention areas. If you leave the con premises, please put away any prop weaponry (even if it clearly looks fake).
Violation of these rules could result in ejection from the con or law enforcement notification.
Imagi-Con cannot be responsible for damage incurred to your costume during the convention, and reserves the right to ask you to change if your outfit if not acceptable.
Imagi-Con will not be responsible for storing or watching any part of your costume for any amount of time.
Although we strive to be as detailed as possible, this is not an all-inclusive list; Imagi-Con reserves the right to determine whether or not your costume is appropriate. We strongly advise you to contact us in advance if you have questions. Let’s get started.
